Acts 6:3-4

Brothers, choose seven men from among you who are known to be full of the Spirit and wisdom. We will turn this responsibility over to them  4and will give our attention to prayer and the ministry of the word.

The purpose of your life is for greater than your own personal fulfillment, your peace of mind or even your happiness. . .you were born by His purpose and for His purpose.

Every Believer Has Been Gifted and Called by God for a Specific Ministry:                 1 Peter 2:9-10

But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.  10Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.

1.                 Chosen        .                                                                                  Romans 12:5

so in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.

2.                 Called        .                                                                            Colossians 3:10-12

3.                 Sent        .                                                                                Galatians 6:14-16

Every Believer Should Take Advantage of the Opportunity to Serve:                                Acts 6:1-7

1.         A         problem         became an opportunity to serve.                                  Acts 6:1-2

In those days when the number of disciples was increasing, the Grecian Jews among them complained against the Hebraic Jews because their widows were being overlooked in the daily distribution of food.  2So the Twelve gathered all the disciples together and said,  ÒIt would not be right for us to neglect the ministry of the word of God in order to wait on tablesÓ.

2.         A ministry plan resulted in people becoming a          priority       .                  Acts 6:3-7

Brothers, choose seven men from among you who are known to be full of the Spirit and wisdom. We will turn this responsibility over to them  4and will give our attention to prayer and the ministry of the word.

5This proposal pleased the whole group. They chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Spirit; also Philip, Procorus, Nicanor, Timon, Parmenas, and Nicolas from Antioch, a convert to Judaism.  6They presented these men to the apostles, who prayed and laid their hands on them.

7So the word of God spread. The number of disciples in Jerusalem increased rapidly, and a large number of priests became obedient to the faith.

No One Person Can Do Everything, but Everyone Can Do Something:                             1 Peter 4:10

Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering GodÕs  grace in its various forms.

1.                 Modeling        .

2.                 Mentoring        .

3.                 Monitoring        .

4.                 Motivating        .

5.                Multiplying        .

Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain  (1 Corinthians 15:58).
