1 Corinthians 13:4-7

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5It is not rude, it is not self‑seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Last week, we explained the eleventh commandment. Today, we will discover love’s missing link.

The Love of God Must Be Our First Priority:                                                      vv. 4-7

1.         His love is generous .                                                                       v. 4

2.         His love is considerate .                                                                   v. 5

3.         His love is compassionate .                                                            v. 6

4.         His love is enduring .                                                                         v. 7

If you love me, you will obey what I command (John 14:15).

The Love of God Must Be Shared with Others:                             2 Corinthians 5:14

For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died.

1.         The power of love.                                                                    John 21

2.         The response of love.                                                  Matthew 10:32

Whoever acknowledges me before men, I will also acknowledge him before my Father in heaven.

Five Simple Steps:

1.         Be ready when He calls.

2.         Make sure it’s God.

3.         Clarify the message .

4.         Obey the call.

5.         Thank God for calling .

His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness (2 Peter 1:3).
