Psalm 5:7

“But I, by your great mercy, will come into your house; in reverence will I bow down toward your holy temple.”

If you limit worship to where you are, the minute you leave that place of worship you will leave your attitude of worship behind like a crumpled-up bulletin.

God Designed Us for Worship: Ephesians 1:11-12

“In him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will, 12in order that we, who were the first to hope in Christ, might be for the praise of his glory.”

1. Worship involves communion . Acts 2:1-4

“When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. 2Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting.3They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. 4All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.”

2. Worship demands commitment . Hebrews 3:7-11

“So, as the Holy Spirit says: ‘Today, if you hear his voice, 8do not harden your hearts as you did in the rebellion, during the time of testing in the desert, 9where your fathers tested and tried me and for forty years saw what I did. 10That is why I was angry with that generation, and I said, “Their hearts are always going astray, and they have not known my ways.” 11So I declared on oath in my anger, “They shall never enter my rest.”‘”

3. Worship requires celebration . Psalm 92:4-5

“For you make me glad by your deeds, O Lord; I sing for joy at the works of your hands. 5How great are your works, O Lord, how profound your thoughts!”

“Worship is the submission of all of our nature to God. It is the quickening of conscience by His holiness; the nourishment of the mind with His truth and the surrender of our will to His purpose.”

God Delights in Our Worship: Psalm 48:1

A song. A psalm of the Sons of Korah. “Great is the Lord, and most worthy of praise, in the city of our God, his holy mountain.”

1. Telling God . Psalm 22:3

“Yet you are enthroned as the Holy One; you are the praise of Israel.”

2. Telling others . Matthew 28:19-20

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

God Is Worthy of Our Worship: Psalm 36:5-7

“Your love, O Lord, reaches to the heavens, your faithfulness to the skies. 6Your righteousness is like the mighty mountains, your justice like the great deep. O Lord, you preserve both man and beast.7How priceless is your unfailing love! Both high and low among men find refuge in the shadow of your wings.”

1. Worship is driven by desire . John 7:37

“On the last and greatest day of the Feast, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, ‘If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink.'”

2. Worship hopes in our eternal destination . Psalm 121
