Romans 5:6-11

You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. 7Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die. 8But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

9Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through him! 10For if, when we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life! 11Not only is this so, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.

The word Atonement means to cover . It refers to our sins being covered over.

WHAT IS GOD DOING THAT I CAN UNDERSTAND, FEEL AND EXPERIENCE TODAY?    Mark 10:45

For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.

1.         Before the fall man was in complete harmony with the natural world.

2.         After the fall man was out of harmony with his environment .

3.         The purpose of the Atonement was to redeem us from sin and to reconcile us with God.

Did you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; 20you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body (1 Corinthians 6:19-20).
