Luke 13:18-19

The word hope has to do with the future. In the Bible, every one seems to be expecting God to act. Hope has to do with the expectation of fulfilment.

 

What Is the Kingdom of God Like? v.18

“Then Jesus asked, What is the kingdom of God like? What shall I compare it to?”

1. The Kingdom of God is like a mustard seed .

2. There is power in the seed.

 

Where Does the Word HOPE Fit In? I John 3:2-3

“Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when he appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. 3Everyone who has this hope in him purifies himself, just as he is pure.”

1. The hopelessness of our society .

2. The bondage of Satan .

3. The coming Kingdom of God.

 

What Do We Have to Be Hopeful About? Psalm 42:11

“Why are you downcast, O my soul? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God.”

1. The promises of God Isaiah 43:1-3

“But now, this is what the Lord says he who created you, O Jacob, he who formed you, O Israel: Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine. 2When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.3For I am the Lord, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior; I give Egypt for your ransom, Cush and Seba in your stead.'”

2. The mercies of God. Deuteronomy 4:9

“Only be careful, and watch yourselves closely so that you do not forget the things your eyes have seen or let them slip from your heart as long as you live. Teach them to your children and to their children after them.”

3. The guidance of God. Romans 8:28

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”
